Photographers and writers share much in common.
and practice to perfect their technique, and to convey stories and emotions through their craft, and both benefit from a deep well of creativity.
Unfortunately, they also share some negative things in common: block .
Just like the writer may feel stuck trying to find the right word or a form of punishment, the photographer can not find anything to photograph. trained eye that can be found fascinating subjects in the mundane surroundings stops working.
Once the photos became a constant in your life, at some point you will be against a bad case of photographer's block.
The good news is that there are three steps you can take to get your creative juices flowing again.
take the camera
This probably sounds like the dumbest advice ever. Of course, you have to take your camera!
But let me take this advice a step further: make sure your camera in hand .
is not enough to have a camera in a bag on his shoulder, and it's not enough that it hangs from the strap around his neck. When you're feeling blocked, you can pass up the photo opportunities due to poor pronunciation: it's too much effort to get the camera ready .
But when the camera in hand, it is always ready. You do not have any excuse not to take a shot.
Once again, your right brain deals and you start seeing the big picture items all around.
Get out of your comfort zone
Many photographers usually settle on the subject of love: flowers, people, buildings, food, pets or children. Let's say that flowers are her passion. After taking 1000 pictures a flower you feel pretty comfortable with his subject.
When you're feeling blocked, spend all day photographing something entirely different: and children, for example. Unlike the flowers, they never stay still and not willing to wait for you to adjust your camera settings.
It's almost guaranteed to be a lot of shots that you will not fall out. It is to be expected - you're out of your comfort zone, shooting something completely new
.the benefit of this exercise is that it takes your mind away from their favorite topics long enough to see differently when I come back to it.
start with Shoes
This technique has worked well for me in the past, when I just do not think (and looking), creatively.
I take pictures of my shoes.
I point the camera straight down, and try to find something interesting about the pattern, texture or color of my shoes lead to photography.
After you spend about 5 minutes, trying to make your shoes look interesting, look up. You suddenly see a wide variety of subjects far more interesting than your shoes.
